I have an old Wasp that I have fitted with an standard Yamaha XS 650 engine . I have also a "Boyer Bransden Micro Digital" ignition that I try to fit. The (red) "digital box" have five wires comming from it, they are all marked, so I sort of know where they go..
Problem is that one is supposed to go to the battery, and I don´t want to have a battery on the bike.
How do I connect the wire that is supposed to go the battery?
There are six (or was it eight?) wires comming from the statorplate of the XS, which one is supposed to go to the battery?
Does anyone know of a website where I can see a XS wiering diagram?
Sorry if my english is a bit off, hope you get the essentials..

Red Boyer ignition box

Your boyer box will not work without a battery on your bike. One problen of a boyer is that it needs more than 10.5 V to work. This will not work without a battery.
It doesn´t matter wich wires you will take.

Hello, I fitted three of them on my bike, and one of my buddy's. I think they are totally crap. The three CDIs burned. And, as the other guys said, they won't work on a bike without battery.

Hello the best way to get a very good ignition and works wihtout battery is the powerdynamo,im driving vetran cup in holland and became champion wiht this ignition , perfect!!!!
Easy for assembly,and wiht much power for licht or a fan for the oil cooler,2 years warrenty.
